Eduarda Marque da Costa - Biography


 

Eduarda Marques da Costa, born in Lisbon in 1966, phd in Spatial Planning in 2001, is associate professor of the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of University of Lisbon (IGOT-UL). She teaches Geography and Spatial Planning since 1990, and she is a researcher in the Centre of Geographical Studies, since 1987. The main scientific areas of their interest are Regional, Urban and Local Planning, Urban Geography and Evaluation of Public Policies. Now, she coordinates the graduation in Spatial Planning and the research group MOPT - Modelling, Urban and Regional Planning of Center of Geographical Studies, research unit of IGOT-Universidade de Lisboa. She is also ad-hoc expert of URBACT III Programme (European Commission) in Thematic Expertises: Health and Support to local authorities and other stakeholders in designing & delivering integrated and participatory policies (section E). She is member of the Direction of Associação Portuguesa de Geógrafos (Portuguese Association of Geographers) and Member of EIT-Health – University of Lisbon experts group. Since 1988, she is consultant in private and public institutions and participated and coordinated more than 20 Research projects and 20 studies for public and private institutions. In the last years, she participated in DG Regio studies (e.g. member of the scientific committee of Regions 2020 - Phase 2), in ESPON Programme (6 ESPON networks and member of the Sounding Board), 2 INTERREG B projects network, and many evaluation studies of public policy linked to structural funds in Portugal. She was also involved in the ex-post evaluation ERDF & CF 2007-2013 work package zero.
