PhD and Aggregation in Human Geography. Research interests: Planning and Land Use Management, Urban and Regional Development, Urbanism, Tourism, and Evaluation of EU Programs and Initiatives. Full Professor at IGOT - Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning, University of Lisbon (since 2006). President of the Assembly/Council of IGOT-ULisboa (since 2009). Scientific Coordinator of the PhD Program in Tourism of IGOT-ULisboa (since 2010). Reseacher at CEG - Centre for Geographical Studies of IGOT-ULisboa (since 1979). Scientific Coordinator of TERRITUR: Research Group on Tourism, Culture and Space, CEG-IGOT-ULisboa (since 2008). Member of the Executive Board of AUP - Portuguese Urbanists Association (since 2015). Member of the Executive Board of IUPEA - International Urban Planning and Environment Association (since 2014). Member of the Council of Representatives of AESOP - Association of European Schools of Planning (since 2016). Sectoral coordinator of the project PNPOT- National Spatial Planning Policy Program (funded by: Directorate-General of Spatial Planning and Urban Development/ Portuguese Government; 2003/2005). Sectoral Coordinator of PDAU - Plan Directeur D’Aménagement et D’Urbanisme de La Wilaya D’Alger (funded by: La Wilaya D’Alger; Algeria; 2007-2008).
